Colors, everyone likes them. Some like earthy tones, some neutral, some exotic and bright. But, what say ye, do you know which colors best suit
you? Let me assist you.
Before you begin your journey of finding the perfect shade, it is important to understand the basics of color theory (yes, I am using the same theory I
learned in my art courses, which surprisingly helps). Knowing what color looks good on you can make or break your glow. We all like trending colors,
but sometimes it can be a bit much. Here is an example of something you may consider avoiding:
What is wrong with the picture?

Conclusion of the look: The only positive point is the on-fleekness of the eyebrows.
If you look at the chart above, you will notice that there are six different types of color harmonies: monochromatic, analogous, complementary,
split complementary, triad, and tetrad. When we apply makeup (Foundation, lipstick, and blush) we are trying to achieve split
complementary harmony (this is not always the case, but it is a good rule of thumb). When it comes to eyeshadow, from my experience the triad
harmony is the best. You can use a duo or a single eyeshadow, but when you use three eyeshadows it creates a beautiful ombre effect and also follows
the rule of three.
“The photos help a lot, but how can I know for sure which tone I am?” There are a variety of different ways, but I will narrow it down to two.
The first way: Is to look at the veins in your wrists. If they have a bluish and/or purple hue — you are in the cool tone category.
If they are a more greenish hue, you are in the warm tone category.
The second way: Is literally holding a piece of paper to your skin. If you have a warm-toned (orange or yellow) colored
paper, and your “undertone” matches — you are warm-toned. If you hold a blue-hued paper your undertone — you are cool-toned. You can use
different colored paper than the ones I mentioned, as long as the colors are in the same skin tone category.
You might be surprised to find you have a different skin tone than what you originally thought. No matter which tone you are, you are perfect the
way you are and God thinks you’re wonderful see — Psalms 139:14. Remember: You are amazing, you're awesome, and you got this!
“The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17
